LIQUEURS Distilleria Caselli ABSINTHE

ABSINTHE

Absinthe originated in 1792 thanks to the French doctor Pierre Ordinaire. Around the mid 19th century, it inspired the bohemian way of living; artists such as Manet, Van Gogh, Toulouse Lautrec, Gauguin, Degas and Picasso relished this special elixir. It was also celebrated by famous "loose living" poets, such as Baudelaire, Verlaine and Rimbaud.
Distilleria Caselli re-presents the original recipe of 1887, the year in which the founder, Francesco Caselli, created a bright blue Absinthe, by distilling more than 10 types of different herbs, among which were wormwood (Artemisia Absinthium), Roman wormwood (Artemisia Valesiana), star anise and green anise; the latter were historically considered to be aphrodisiac.

HERB USED: Distilled mix of selected herbs among which are Artemisia Absinthium and l'Artemisia Valesiana.
